Setup, configuration, and reviewer test
Metronome is configured from Jira administration. The Marketplace name is Metronome: Recurring Tasks for Jira; the navigation entry inside Jira is Recurring Tasks.
1. Find the app after installation
- Sign in to the Jira site where the app was installed.
- Choose the Settings gear, then choose Apps.
- In the left navigation, under Apps, choose Recurring Tasks.
Do not look for a project sidebar item. Schedule management is a site-wide Jira administration page, so only a Jira or site administrator can open it.
2. Create and configure a schedule
- Choose New schedule.
- Enter the issue summary and optional description. Use
{{date}}or{{month}}if the due date should appear in the issue summary. - Select the Jira project and one of that project's issue types.
- Choose daily, weekly, or monthly; then choose the local hour, minute, and timezone.
- Choose Save schedule. The schedule list shows when it is due next.
3. Reviewer test
- Create a schedule using a test project and confirm it appears in the schedule list with the expected local time and timezone.
- Choose Run now on that row.
- Open the issue linked from the row and confirm the summary, description, project, and issue type match the schedule.
- Return to Settings → Apps → Recurring Tasks and confirm the row reports the last run and the issue it created.
- Edit the schedule and save a different minute or timezone. Confirm the displayed next run changes.
- Delete the test schedule when finished.
4. What proves the app is working
- Visible status: every row shows the next run, last run, and created issue. A schedule that cannot run says why.
- Local-time integrity: the selected timezone remains attached to the schedule, including across daylight-saving changes.
- Immediate verification: Run now creates a real Jira issue without waiting for the next recurrence.
- Permission boundary: the app reads project and issue-type choices, creates scheduled issues, and stores its schedules in Atlassian Forge. It has no external application server.
